"GS" Server is an application designed to provide a commercial and non-profit computer based audio services. It is oriented for use in both personal and corporate environment. It provides content management, billing & CRM functionality.
"GS" was developed to meet the specific needs of organizing, managing and delivering Live and Recording Audio Services (mobile or fixed) over a computer network (Internet/LAN/WAN) for subscribed and non subscribed users, without any additional software.
Generally "GS" does not require a Web Server to access its services.
"GS" can be integrated into an existing web services framework to work as a powerful enhancement for an existing business model.
"GS" has a unique and powerful set of features including Audio Redirection, MP3 recording, Chat Room Server that can be used independently of its audio streaming capability.
"GS" is suitable for a broad range of people: Audio publishers, Recorded Voice Services and Live Advice Services (1-9xx, 1-8xx etc) telephone operators, Lecturers, Spoken Word Productions, E-Learning course designers, Web Masters and Web Hosting providers. Anyone who may wish to make their content available via a computer network.
"GS" may also be used for retransmission, via a computer network (or just recording), of audio information coming from various sources, such as an ordinary radio, tape-recorder, telephone etc and for simply carrying out sound monitoring of premises where a computer with this system is located.
Computer enthusiasts and professionals may use "GS" for integration with unified messaging systems as additional service. "GS" may be integrated with existing video servers that do not have their own audio functionality and other equipment and applications where the broad, flexible range of "GS" features is required.
Genie Stream™ Server mainly (but not entirely!) is a business tool.
The main distinct feature of the "GS" solution is that it allows the broadcasting of audio information in either LIVE or FILE mode (supporting Text To Speech) to selected individual or groups without a need for a Web Server or a separate database for maintenance of subscribed users. However "GS", is fully capable of integration with the web control interface based on existing and Databases.
The program has a built-in account-billing engine which keeps track of clients' credit/money spent when they access fee-paying/commercial services.
"GS" is designed for easy usage by non-IT savvy users with minimal computer skills and equipment, as well as by IT professionals, who, using "GS" pretty much as a construction set, may build their Own Audio Streaming Services!
In order to understand "GS" system's streaming functionality and benefits, just imagine that you have a radio broadcasting station at your disposal.

You will have the ability to organize broadcasting within your office, to your company, or, indeed, to the whole world. YOU will determine the rules under which such broadcasting will take place: who may or may not participate in the broadcast, whether the broadcast should be paid (commercial service) or free-to-air, the payment rate, the duration of the broadcast, and whether the broadcast transmission should be live or pre-recorded for prospective listeners/subscribers.

YOU will even have the option to determine whether to permit the recording of your broadcast by listeners for subsequent access. Also, if the broadcast is interrupted or broken off, your listeners will be able to access the broadcast after it is restored, from the point where the broadcast was interrupted ("STREAM AUDIO FILE" mode). The broadcast may be general (same for every one) or may also be customized to individual listener needs (on a "need to know" basis) as personal-subscription streaming.
"GS" System is based on the so-called "Client/Server" technology and consists of two physically independent programs that share the same protocol (language) of data exchange. Not all of Server's functionality requiring usage its client/player.
Streaming and Chat Room functionality is requiring "GS" Client and "GS" Server working together.
In terms of an analogy with a broadcasting station and a radio, the "GS" Server is a broadcasting station. It is the program delivering audio streaming (broadcasting) through the computer network according to the rules set by the "GS" Service Provider for services created for subscribed/non-subscribed single or group users. The "GS" Server is also responsible for all database (where all data of services and user information is stored) transactions and maintenance of all settings required for a successful audio streaming.
"GS" Client (Player) establishes a connection with the Genie Stream™ Server and, according to the Genie Stream Service Provider settings specific to a particular user or group of users, receives the transmitted information from the Genie Stream™ Service Provider. In terms of an analogy with a broadcasting station and a radio, the "GS" Client (Player) is a radio.

It also it works as a Chat Room client during communication with Genie Stream Chat Room Server with or without accompanying audio streaming.
"GS" Client has a wide range of setup options allowing access to streaming and chat services under different conditions as well as built-in browser to access User Web Control Interface.

System Administrator access rights to your computer during "GS" installation.
This mode is designed for audio broadcasting in "Real Time" - LIVE from a selected audio device input according to the settings and rules set for each user or group of users.
This mode can be also used as an audio monitoring tool and can be very effective for mobile users who have a requirement for live audio broadcasting from a place of their location.
This mode is designed for audio broadcasting of saved audio files in a set order according to the settings and rules set for each user or group of users.

Depending on the settings, this mode can resume interrupted broadcasting (RESUME MODE) and gives the user control over his/her listening choice.
This mode is designed to record audio in the "GS" file format suitable for streaming.
This mode can also be used as an independent MP3 Recorder.
Recording can be made from any PC Audio Device supporting MS Windows mixer-recording functionality.
Genie Stream Chat Room Server is an integrated part of Genie Stream Server.
Chat room server can play an important role during audio streaming sessions, providing an alternative means of communication during the broadcast.
For example: during LIVE streaming, Chat Room can be used by connected users as a way to ask questions, which can be promptly addressed by the "GS" Service Provider.
This mode allows re-direction of the output (source) of one sound card (PC Audio Device) to the input (target) of another sound card or another PC Audio Device supporting "MS WINDOWS AUDIO WAVE MIXER DRIVERS FORMAT" installed in the same computer (no additional wires or devices are required), with subsequent capacity to broadcast via the computer network.

This is a very powerful function with great opportunities for redirected audio broadcasting.
The "GS" Server allows, through its built-in converter of audio files, to convert a regular audio (PCM or ADPCM) Wave file or text file or a group of files into a proper ("GSF" - Genie Stream File) format, which is necessary for Genie Stream to operate.
Service Manager - establishes business rules for connecting users or groups to the "GS" Server in complex commercial scenarios.
Hyperlinks Register provides unified URL links for a direct access to the "GS" audio services, which can be used on the Web Control Interface.
