Click on each "STEP" to refer to corresponding explanations.
STEP 1: Playback Device.
Select an available playback device from the drop down list. When running the "GS" Setup
for the first time or selecting a new "Playback Device", it is highly
recommended to use the
to check whether your Audio Device/System is compatible with all technical specifications
and whether all necessary software/drivers have been installed onto your system.
This will allow the "GS" Client to play streaming content in the appropriate for the
"GS" Client audio format.
Before checking your audio device, it is important that, to stop / close all other audio applications
running and using the same audio device at the same time.
You can use the
button to determine what
the software drivers and audio codecs are installed, as well as the hardware properties of your audio device.
STEP 2: Service / Host Name.
Before connecting to the "GS" Server you
must provide a valid IP
Address, Computer Name (if you use Intranet) or Domain Name of the
"GS" Service Provider. Use the
to save your "GS" Service Provider on the service providers' list.
Use the
to
rename one of the items on the service providers' list or the
to delete one from the list.
STEP 3: Service Channel.
Select the service channel to which you want to connect. This information should
be obtained
from your "GS" Service Provider.
STEP 4: User Information.
If your "GS" Service Provider requires authorisation before
it will allow streaming to start, you must provide the "User ID" and "Password"
obtained from your "GS" Service Provider, or, created by yourself if your "GS" Service
Provider has a web- based user control interface.
If you know that your "GS" Service Provider
does not require
authorisation before allowing streaming to start, leave the fields "User ID" and "Password" blank.
You may provide your e-mail address to allow your "GS" Service Provider
to contact you regarding information related to your subscription or to
send the latest, "GS" Service Provider services news.
STEP 5: Mix (optional).
You can specify the number of seconds you want to allow for buffering before
the start of
each connection to the "GS" Server. In the case of "LIVE"
streaming, there will be a delay between the "Real Time of Event" and
"Real Time of Listening". For the most systems, a 25 second
wait time is an acceptable
compromise between the time of waiting before the "first sound" and possible
"compensation for network quality" when "data packets" delays
are occurring often. You can increase the buffering time up to one minute
should you have a very "slow" or "noisy" connection.
STEP 6: Service Channel.
If your "GS" Service Provider permits
recording of the service
broadcast, and you want to record it, then you must select a file folder where
to record. If you do not want to keep each of recorded files, you can
check "Overwrite file(s) if name already exists" check box.
STEP 7: Startup / Icons (optional).
Choose if you want "GS" Client starts on the Windows Startup and place
where
icons of "GS" Client are displayed.
